February 2004: VOLUME IV ONLINE
4 NEW PAGES!!! (With New Images!)
1956: In the General Motors Truck Assembly Plant in Oakland, California (long since shut down) a Chevrolet Truck Model 3105 (1/2 Ton Panel Delivery) rolls off the line. It is purchased from a dealership unknown by a dry cleaning business in Clovis, California, and used in the manner it was designed for-- Delivering laundry and other professionally cleaned items to customers in that small Central Valley town. 1983: A friend of Larry Christopherson (the author's father) discoveres a 1956 Panel Delivery Van sitting on it's axles in a disused field in the Santa Cruz Mountains outside Aptos, California. The owner gives Larry the vehicle free for the removal. He gets the engine running, the tires inflated, and drives it (or gets it towed) away. 1999: I take title on the van. I got plans for it. This page, like the truck itself, is going to be an ongoing project. We're going to keep a record of the rebuild and post it whenever possible. It's not going to be a really technical "gearhead" sort of webpage-- it's going to funny, informative, and illustrated. Check in once in awhile and watch it happen!
